A Quick Review of Print 2019

Published by Greg Polk on Oct 14th 2019

Print 2019 in Chicago was a much smaller show this year with a lot fewer vendors and attendees. I remember the days when big presses with big crowds were the norm. Like many, I miss those days but I realize that as print and finishing technology changes to reflect the market demands, so too will the shows.

While Print 2019 was a disappointment to me, I am excited about Printing United in Dallas. It’s supposed to be a much bigger show and there will be some new products there that could interest you too. I’ve listed a few below:

Kirk-Rudy FIreJet 4C Inkjet Printer:

The new Memjet Duraflex Inkjet Technology on a heavy-duty platform designed to provide full color printing that’s faster and far more durable than the tabletop machines. If you’re wearing out a Rena or Neopost Memjet inkjet, then this might be the machine for you.

Duplo DC-618 Slitter/Cutter/Creaser:

This is an impressive machine that can best be described as a “bindery in a box”. If you’re familiar with the Duplo DC-616, then it’s best to think of this machine as a turbo-charged version that’s loaded with upgrades. The DC-618 comes with completely new software that’ss equally impressive and makes job setup and operation a breeze.

Duplo DFL-500 Coat/Foil/Laminator:

This is a single-side dry coat, foil, and laminator machine designed for short runs and regular jobs that you want to keep in-house. There is almost no maintenance involved and very little setup for each job too. To foil, simply print or spot coat the areas where you want foil and run it through the machine.

These machines will be at Printing United, but I can send you more information and pricing if you’re interested before then too.

Thanks for reading and I hope to see you at Printing United in Dallas!
